Ten reasons why North Korea is kind of weird, and you should know more about it

1. The most repressive totalitarian regime today.

2. A world that is not connected to the Internet, in which radio and television dials are welded to the one government station, and showing a display of affection is severely punished; a policed state where informants are rewarded and where an offhand remark can send a person to the gulag for life.

3. People eat grass, clay and tree bark to put things in their belly.

4. A fifth of the North Korean population died of starvation due to some silly little decisions, such as relying on the Soviet Union for support and building a dam, which cut off water to precious pastures. In 1992, the North Korean government launched the "Let's Eat Two Meals Per Day Campaign" in an attempt to cut down food consumption. (Easy fixed)

5. Civilians have no idea what is outside of North Korea.

6. Civilians are lead to believe Kim Jong Il and his father Kim Jong Sung have magical powers, ie) Kim Jong Il can change the weather with his mood.

7. Kim Jong Sung has been dead for 16 years, but he is still President.

8. 1 percent of their population is in concentration camps, where there is apparent rape, torture, murder, medical experimentation etc.

9. Kim Jong Sung is praised for sitting at a school desk and suggesting it have an interchangeable angle on the desk top.

10. No one can get in, no one can get out.
